I have been a single mom most nights as Kyle attempts to get the swing set put together. He has been working hard on it every night after work until it gets dark out. The rain all day Saturday didn't help. Our yard is a muddy mess. Our grass died last summer, so we had the backyard dug up and we will re-sod again soon. We also had a sprinkler system put in last week. Hopefully, that will help and we will not have to redo our lawn each spring!! Our plan this week/weekend is to get the swing set together and do some landscaping around it. I really enjoy doing stuff like that if I had time. The kids would much rather be riding their bikes than watching me plant a shrub.
Tonight Sydney and I were watching a picture slide show on the computer. It is just amazing how fast time goes. It seems like yesterday Evan was a baby. He is now riding around on his bike without training wheels and trying to jump little dirt hills (his father's child). He bikes around with the neighborhood boys that are in 1st grade.
Sydney talks a mile a minute and is such a kind sweet girl. She absolutely adores Evan. I'm not sure why because he can be mean and rough with her at times. Her newest thing is waking up at 3 a.m. and wanting to watch Alvin and the Chipmunk's!! She is glued to my side. Whenever I shower or get ready for the day Sydney is right by my side. She is the only 2 year old that I know that wears Oil of Olay and deodorant.
Olivia and Mara are walking and getting into trouble. They love the toilet!! Evan was the same way and Sydney never went near the toilet. If I take my eyes off of them for two seconds you can bet they are splashing in the toilet water. I try to keep the door closed, but with Evan and Sydney both using the bathroom it's hard to do. They are both getting their own unique personalities. Mara screams and cries when she wakes up in the morning and Olivia just lays in her crib and sucks her nuk until I come and get her. I wish you could all see how they interact with each other. They hug and kiss one another. If one cries the other will find a nuk and stick it in her mouth. Yesterday, Olivia went upstairs and got her blanket out of her crib and then got Mara's for her. We have a small kid table in our living room. Olivia sits on one chair and Mara sits on the other and they both drink their milk and giggle at each other. There is something so special about the bond that they have. I love to just sit and watch them . They are so sweet to one another!! Don't get me wrong they do fight too. That is even kind of funny to watch.
Happy belated Mother's Day. We are all truly blessed!!
