Another busy weekend!

We started off our busy weekend by going to The Liberty Block Party on Friday night. It's always fun to go check it out and eat. They didn't have a lot for the kids to do this year. We got some mini donuts for the girls and Evan got a snow cone. We were getting ready to leave when Evan decided he had to have a balloon animal. The line was so long. I tried to bribe him with a trip to Coborn's for a candy bar and when that didn't work a Spiderman toy. He was pretty set on a balloon animal. We get in the mile long line and the girls finish their mini donuts and start to get fussy because they want to get out of the stroller. After about 30 minutes or more we get the alligator balloon for Evan and pink poodle for Sydney. We head out and before we even get home the stupid balloon animals break. I guess they were fun while they lasted.
On Saturday I took Evan and Sydney shopping for my dads b-day present. Evan picked out a Twins shirt and hat and we also got him some golfing passes. We went to the mall to get Sydney's ears pierced again!! They didn't have two people working until later in the day, so she will have to wait again.
On Saturday afternoon we went to Melrose for Ryan and Mollie's pool party. The weather wasn't bad and the kids enjoyed the pool. Luckily Mike Sand was there to save my child (Evan) from drowning. I was on deck closer to the house and Kyle had Evan and Sydney on the pool deck. Kyle bent down to put Sydney's life jacket on when Evan takes a running jump into the pool without a life jacket on. The kid has no fear, and it scares me. I think he was trying to be funny in front of all of the people and he didn't think that it was as deep as it was. Mike grabbed him right away. I'm not sure what he would have done if no one was there. I hope he learned his lesson. Anyway, we had a great time and it is always fun to get together and see every ones kids.
Today we went out to my parents cabin to celebrate my dads b-day. He loved his presents and the homemade cards Evan and Sydney made him. Kyle and Evan went on the jet ski a couple of times and we put the pool up for the girls. We ate lunch and had b-day cake. The weather was great and it was nice to get some sun. By 3 the girls were long overdue for their nap, so we headed home. Another fast and busy weekend!!
