Another great weekend!!

We had a great long weekend. I am so sad to have to go back to work tomorrow!! On Friday after work I ran up to the STC Hospital to visit my friend Alyssa. She had a baby boy on Thursday. Welcome Degan Joseph!! He was adorable and it made me miss that newborn baby stage. Kyle would die if he heard me say that, so good thing he doesn't read this. Kyle picked up Evan early on Friday from daycare and took him fishing at my parents cabin. He then made it home in time to pick the girls up from daycare. As I'm driving down the street I can see the kids leaning down by Kyle watching him scale the fish he and Evan had caught. They thought it was great picking up the fish and touching their eyes. They were having fun and didn't seem to think it was gross so I just smiled and acted like it didn't bother me.
On Saturday my sister offered to have Evan and Sydney come and stay with her for the weekend. They were absolutely ecstatic. I couldn't decide who they were more excited to see Katie or her dog Zoe. One of our neighbors was driving to Alexandria, so he brought Evan and Sydney and Katie met them. Katie had the entire weekend packed full with activities. They started out on Saturday with the movie Monsters vs Aliens and then they headed to Space Aliens. In the evening they went to one of her friends house for a fire. On Sunday they went to the zoo, Chucky Cheese, and the DQ. I think they also got to go one a tour of the police station. Sydney came home with two huge tattoos one on each arm (temporary, of course). I asked Sydney where she got them and she told me, "The Pizza Hut." Katie had to call and report all of the funny things that Evan and Sydney would tell her. The kids had a blast with Auntie Katie and Zoe. Evan told me when I picked them up that he is going back again next week. Katie might have to take out a loan to entertain them again next week.
We had a great time spending some alone time with Olivia and Mara. We ran some errands, went out for lunch and did some yard work. Geez, having two kids was a breeze. Sunday we spent the day at home playing/working outside. Kyle worked on the deck and the girls played on the play set for most of the day. I got some planting and yard work done with Olivia and Mara's help. I think the girls really enjoyed the one on one attention. They are getting so big and so mature. I really have to stop calling "the babies." We are working on potty training and they talk using sentences, so they really aren't "the babies" anymore.
Today was an absolute crazy day. I got up and went to pick up Evan and Sydney. I met Katie half way, but it still took us about three hours round trip. I took Mara and Olivia with me, which made it a long car ride for all of us. I got home and we went right over to Kyle's parents for lunch. After lunch we ran home to get our house ready for a neighborhood BBQ. All and all, it was a great long weekend!!
